Well it’s been a while since I’ve written! I have really messed up! Gained back lots of weight, moved to another state….again and we are going through a rough patch in life. That’s where I’m at right now. Happy that I’m saved and praying that God will help with all the stuff around us!

My prayer is that I can get to a gym start lifting weights and get on a good way of eating. What is hard right now is that, well most people won’t understand this unless they’ve been there but food can get expensive! More namely vegetables. I’d love to be able to afford to put veggies on the plate not only once a day but several times a day! I believe that eating good means having a plate that is filled with vegetables and a palm size serving of meat. For the kids I would add brown rice or sweet potatoes. However, that isn’t possible right now. Do you know how expensive fresh vegetables are?!!! It’s no wonder we have a growing fat epidemic! Do you know what’s served at food pantries?! Processed boxed or canned foods. Yes Food pantries are a blessing to many but the foods have to be shelf stable for long periods of time. This is terrible. Not only do the poor get poorer, but nutritionally are more deficient now too. They don’t have better options. Do you know what the cheapest foods are to feed a large family? I do. Oats, eggs and rice. Those are the healthiest food items that I can come up with that doesn’t leave you starving after you’ve eaten them. So, for now we continue praying that my husband will get a better job so we can not only live better, but eat better.

  1. This is so true! Add beans to your list of cheap foods. You can get a bag of dried beans, lentils or peas and make good hearty soups with them, they’re very filling, and have lots of protein.

  2. Hey welcome back. What’s going on, hun? I will certainly pray for you. Just a tip, frozen and tinned veggies are ok if you can’t get fresh. Important thing is to get those veggies any way you can. Chin up, this too will pass.

  3. I know exactly how this feels! My husband wasn’t getting paid properly for Months after we got married last year and we had hardly any food.. I used it as an excuse and gained so much weight.. I’m tired of it! I also have 100 pounds to lose and I just have to congratulate you on being so committed and thinking of your health even when times are hard. You can do this! 💪🏻

  4. sometimes working and exercising won’t do much, then it needs a diet change a proper diet like ketogenic can do much weightloss than ever. you can find The ketogenic diet is a low carb, moderate protein, and high fat diet which puts the body into a metabolic state known as ketosis. When you’re body is in a state of ketosis, the liver produced ketones which become the main energy source for the body. http://bit.ly/ketogenic2

    1. I am very familiar with keto. I did it for a fewd weeks on and off. I kept under 20 grams of carbs and was in keto until I started getting heart palps. I stopped and then started again and the heart palps returned for a second time. I did up sodium intake and was taking magnesium supps. My other concern with keto was the lack of fiber. I really wasn’t a fan of taking fiber supps. I did like how full I was on it but like I said heart palps will scare the world out of ya if you know what I mean!
